College of Arts and Sciences holds seminar-workshop on OBE
In line with the Commission on Higher Education’s Memorandum Order No. 46 entitled “Policy Standard to Enhance Quality Assurance (QA) In Philippine Higher Education through Outcomes-Based and Typology-Based QA.”, the College of Arts and Sciences headed by Dean Marjorie F. Salas conducted a two day seminar-workshop on June 22-23, 2016 at the HRM Dining Hall. It was participated in by faculty members, department heads and deans from the different colleges.
The seminar-workshop goal was to know the outcomes-based education (OBE) approach of learning, review CHED’s existing policies, standards and guidelines and how these can be integrated into the curriculum and revise course syllabi integrating the OBE approach. To achieve this goal Dr. Gregorio B. Perez Jr., Dr. Nancy J. Fajutrao, Dr. Christy P. Laurente, Dr. Arnold P. Anceno and Dir. Cesar H. Medina from CHED Region 6 were invited as speakers to provide participants an in-depth understanding of outcomes-based education and how to institutionalized it in Western Institute of Technology.
