WIT 46th Annual Cultural Contest brought Liberal Arts Department into a big bash celebration. The department was crowned as the over-all champion for the said event. They brought home the bacon as they got 4 trophies for the 1st place namely; English Oration, English Group Storytelling, Debate and Essay Writing Contest. Issandra Joy Bulahan got 2nd Place for Vocal Solo Pop, Adones Belandres, a 3rd Placer for the Hiligaynon Declamation. And also LA got 2nd Place for the Contemporary Dance. The event was participated by the different departments of Western Institute of Technology including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Information Technology, Accountancy, Business Administration, Secretarial, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Liberal Arts Department. |

The ME Department’s Tribute to WIT’s 45th Anniversary… Yes! The Mechanical Engineering Department made it again. Another feather is added to its cap as it marked its 26th Board Topnotcher in 45 years. Believing in “Doing the right things right” in a Culture of Discipline and Excellence, the department is continuing its effort to become the Best Performing Department of Western Institute of Technology. Worthy of the recognition as Cum Laude, RUEL G. GRAVO, the 2008 Most Outstanding College Graduate ranked 3rd in the April 2009 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination given on April 25-26, 2009 in Manila and Cebu City simultaneously. He obtained a rating of 88.05% and outranked the other examinees from the other well known universities and colleges in the country.  |

THIS YEAR’S PRETTIEST GIRL IN WIT-CoE, UNFOLDS… The College of Engineering of WESTERN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY will celebrate their 18th Engineering Day Celebration on August 5-6, 2009 with the Theme: “Developing Mental Skills Through Sports”. There will be six departments (CE, CompE, EE, ME, MarE and IT) who will be competing in eight events (Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Softball, Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis and Chess). Mr. Anrem J. Balontong, Head of the Information Technology Department is this year’s over-all chairman and he is inviting everyone including alumni of WIT-College of Engineering to attend their Liturgy Mass and Opening Ceremony on August 5, 8AM at the Small Grandstand in RTS Campus.
