WIT Faculty Wins Best Poster Paper

A faculty member of the Western Institute Technology won “Best Poster Paper” in the 1st UP Visayas Graduate Research Conference held at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV) Iloilo City Campus last September 24, 2005.

Mr. Edgar M. Hortillosa, a faculty of the Arts and Sciences Department and Biology instructor of the school, won over the other entries in his category. His research entitled, “Mangrove Community Structure in Bay-ang Bay, Ajuy, Iloilo” was presented during the contest and earned recognition as Best Poster Paper.

The research is part of Hortillosa’s Master’s thesis for the degree Master of Science Biology (Environment Biology) at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, where he is currently pursuing the said degree.
