THIS YEAR’S PRETTIEST GIRL IN WIT-CoE, UNFOLDS… The College of Engineering of WESTERN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY will celebrate their 18th Engineering Day Celebration on August 5-6, 2009 with the Theme: “Developing Mental Skills Through Sports”. There will be six departments (CE, CompE, EE, ME, MarE and IT) who will be competing in eight events (Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Softball, Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis and Chess). Mr. Anrem J. Balontong, Head of the Information Technology Department is this year’s over-all chairman and he is inviting everyone including alumni of WIT-College of Engineering to attend their Liturgy Mass and Opening Ceremony on August 5, 8AM at the Small Grandstand in RTS Campus.
Our culminating activity is the search for “Miss TECHNO 2010” on August 6, 7PM at the Big Grandstand in RTS Campus. We will have eight candidates from various departments who will vie for that coveted crown and will serve as ambassadress of goodwill in our college. The “Boy’s Over Flowers look-a-like” Mr. Kevin Hermia an EE-4 student will be the lucky guy on that night for he will get the chance to get intimate with the candidates as the host. My co-chair in the said search, Engr. Eduardo Salavaria quotes: “This contest is part of our campaign in uniting the students’ in our college not just through sports but through social activities as well”. If you want to be up close and personal with our ladies, there will be a “Presentation of Candidates” on August 5, 2009, 3PM at Gaisano City.
