It was July 9, the sun was up and no sign of gloominess of the afternoon. Thus, it was indeed a good day of welcome for the newbies of WIT. The four corners of the newly covered Grandstand at the RTS Campus was filled up with smiles and laughter of the first year and transferees, patiently waiting for the Orientation Program where they will be formally introduced to the School officials.

Bang! The Western Institute of Technology continuously made some noise as it celebrated its 46t Annual College Week Last February 6-13, 2010 with the theme, “WIT at the Helm of Excellence in 2010”.

The following were the conspicuous and highly anticipated events:

GENERAL ALUMNI HOMECOMING

Western Institute of Technology Alumni – Association Inc. (WITAA Inc.) had its General Alumni Homecoming Last February 6, 2010 at WIT-Quadrangle Area.

The highlight of the said event was the election of Board of Directors and at the same time the induction of 2010-2011 officers of WITAA Inc.

The said Homecoming was hosted by Silver Jubilarian Graduates Batch 1985.

WIT 46^th Annual Cultural Contest brought Liberal Arts Department into a big bash celebration. The department was crowned as the over-all champion for the said event. They brought home the bacon as they got 4 trophies for the 1^st place namely; English Oration, English Group Storytelling, Debate and Essay Writing Contest. Issandra Joy Bulahan got 2^nd Place for Vocal Solo Pop, Adones Belandres, a 3^rd Placer for the Hiligaynon Declamation. And also LA got 2^nd Place for the Contemporary Dance.

The event was participated by the different departments of Western Institute of Technology including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Information Technology, Accountancy, Business Administration, Secretarial, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Liberal Arts Department.
